Dear friends,
Sydney Malayalee Association care deeply about the well-being and safety of our community. In the past months, we have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and keeping abreast of government guidelines. These are challenging times, but we are here to assure the community that we can provide support in some way if needed. Sydmal has set up a Task force for help and support for people who are distressed and or require help.
In our meeting of volunteers held today, it was decided to take up the following projects.
1) To provide basic essentials and medicines to people in isolation and elderly people.
2) To help overseas student community in their need.
We have formed 8 Community Response Team based on Regional/Local government Areas. In the event of the current situation worsening, then the teams will be ready for action. Further information and contact details of Co-ordinators in each area will be made available to the General public soon. If you are willing and able to join the group, please do so. We are looking for more volunteers to make the initiative effective.
Finally we hope and pray that the situation improves so that all these initiatives will not be required. Please continue to pray for the affected people worldwide and this global pandemic to end as soon as possible. In the meantime if you are having any difficulty or are distressed in any way,
please contact Sydmal Help Desk through email – execom@sydmal.com.au OR visit us on facebook.com
Thank you for your support in this vital hour of need
